Heavy-Duty Mechanic

We are currently seeking a dynamic, full-time Certified Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The position will be based out of the Strathnaver location, which serves as a central hub for our regional operations.

Key responsibilities include maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including log loaders, forklifts, log trailers, and other company vehicles. As a Heavy-Duty Mechanic with Dunkley, you will have the opportunity to utilize your troubleshooting and problem-solving skills while working on diverse and advanced equipment in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for an extremely motivated, safety-conscious individual to join our team.

The successful candidate will possess the following technical skills and experience:

  • Journeyperson certification as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic with a Red Seal Endorsement; Apprentices in the latter stage of their training are also encouraged to apply
  • Substantial industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a sawmill or wood production industry
  • Extensive experience in maintaining and troubleshooting Caterpillar equipment, Taylor & Hyster forklifts, and other large-scale machinery
  • Experience with electronic and electrical systems is a strong asset, along with the ability to use diagnostic tools and computer-based software for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, email, reporting, and data entry)
  • Extremely detail-oriented with a precision maintenance mindset
  • Exceptional inter-personal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting skills, planning skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities under time constraints
  • Possess a very strong commitment to safety

This position offers a highly competitive wage of up to $48.88 per hour (depending on experience), with a comprehensive benefits package, and rewarding opportunities to grow within an industry-leading company.
