Kiln Operator / 4th Class Power Engineer

We currently have an opening for a Kiln Operator with a 4th Class Power Engineering ticket.  Foothills Forest Products operates a dual-cell 40 MMBTU wood-fired boiler to heat its dry-kilns and operating facilities.  In addition to the operation of this energy plant, the successful candidate will operate our kiln operations, forklifts and other mobile equipment associated with lumber inventory and kiln management and some emergency response accountabilities. We are looking for an extremely motivated, safety conscious individual to join our team.

The successful candidate will possess the following technical skills and experience:

• Must possess a valid ABSA 4^th Class (or better) Power Engineer Certificate.
• Very strong commitment to Safety.
• Technical knowledge related to wood-fired thermal-oil energy plants.
• Experience in drying processes, preferably kiln drying of softwood lumber.
• Ability to operate mobile equipment (front-end loader, skid-steer, forklift).
• Ability to work 24/7/365 shift schedule.
• Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license
• Extremely detail oriented with a quality/precision mindset
• Exceptional inter-personal and communication skills; cooperates with and is committed to the team.
• Strong analytical trouble shooting skills; uses data and facts in making decisions.
• Possess time management skills and can work on several priorities concurrently under time constraints.
